Answers:

  1. Will my diploma say "Online" degree?
No. You will receive the official, traditional diploma of Boston University.

  2. How is this program accredited?
The New England Association of Schools and Colleges accredits Boston University for its degree-granting programs. Usually, academic institutions only recognize degrees from regionally accredited institutions when considering someone for employment, a teaching position, or further academic study (including transfer of course credit).
These programs also meet the tuition reimbursement standards of most organizations and employers.

  3. How many credits will I receive upon completion of the program?
Students who complete all 12 courses will be awarded 48 credits.

  4. How long is the program?
The program can be completed in two years. There are six semesters of approximately 15 weeks each.

  5. How many credits and courses do I take each semester?
You will enroll in two consecutive four-credit hour courses each semester for a total of eight credits each semester.

  6. Are there any prerequisites that I must take?
Please review the "Course Descriptions" section for mandatory prerequisite courses or call an Admissions Representative at 1.866.232.0232 Ext. 3399 (US and Canada) or +1.647.722.6642 Ext. 3399 (International) for more information.
Prior to taking MET AD 630, basic math knowledge must be demonstrated by the completion of the mandatory prerequisite course called ALEKS©. ALEKS© is a self-paced tutorial that is designed to ensure that you are well-prepared for this course.

  7. How much does the program cost?
See the Tuition and Fees Supplement for the most current information. This is a great investment when you consider that the program will allow you to realize career-advancing opportunities while you continue working. It is immediately accessible from your home or office, and you can have the benefits of a graduate degree from a prestigious school like Boston University.

  8. When do I start the program?
You may enter at six points per year during any semester — fall, spring, or summer.

  9. How much time is required in this program?
Most students require approximately 20 hours per week on course work. This will vary by course and the student’s familiarity with the material.

  10. Who do I talk to if I have more questions or if I want to apply?
Most students require approximately 20 hours a week on course work. This will vary by course and the student's familiarity with the material.

  11. Do I need to maintain a certain GPA?
No grade lower than B– may be used toward degree, certificate, or diploma requirements. Students below a 3.0 cumulative GPA are placed in academic probation status. After being placed on probation, students must make satisfactory progress toward achieving a minimum of 3.0 the following semester and be in a position to graduate with a 3.0 or better within the remaining program courses. Students who, in the determination of the department and based on past performance, are not in a position to raise their GPA to the level required to graduate within the remaining courses will be terminated from the program. Students who have not removed themselves from academic probation status after one semester for full-time status or three courses for part-time status will be terminated from the program.
